There are very few appliances that earn their status in my kitchen then a Slow Cooker. I love it because there is minimal prep and all I have to do is steam some veggies and dinner is ready in 15 minutes. The pressure of getting dinner on the table after a long day is off, and walking into a house full of the aromas of a delicious dinner is wonderful.
The Slow Cooker is essentially an outer shell that has a concealed element with a dial for the controls. The inner insert consists of a ceramic bowl and lid.
So here are a few tips to making sure you get the best out of your Slow Cooker:
The last meal that I made in the Slow Cooker was a delicious and fragrant Massaman Curry for a dinner party. The beef was diced into 3 cm pieces and you could pull the beef apart with your fork. OMG, Fabulous and the best part was that all the prep was done in the morning so all the pressure was off in the evening. All I had to do was steam some greens and cook some coconut rice. I had plenty of time to mingle and chat with guests before we ate. These are the kind of meals that I love, no stress.
Other meals that I make are:
Lentil, Pumpkin and Chicken Curry
Dahl and vegetable curry
Ok, so now its time to either purchase one or get it out of the cupboard and start using it!
